Dr. Jake Letourneau

Dr. Jacob Letourneau is a remarkable optometrist with a true humanitarian spirit. After growing up in Concordia, Kansas, Dr. Letourneau received his Bachelors' Degree in Human Biology from The University of Kansas. During his time at KU, he was a 4-year member and a 2-year starter on the football team, Big XII Academic All-Conference, and District 6 Academic All-American selection.

He then went on to University of Alabama-Birmingham School of Optometry where he received his Doctorate of Optometry. There, he specialized in pediatric and family eye care as well as the diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetes. He also specializes in slowing the progression of early stage Age-Related Macular Degeneration and has a wealth of experience fitting specialty contact lenses.

Dr. Letourneau is a member of the American Optometric Association and the Kansas Optometric Association. He participates in the InfantSee program, a program in which participating optometrists provide a comprehensive infant eye assessment between 6 and 12 months of age as a no-cost public service. As a volunteer with Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity, or VOSH, Dr. Letourneau has traveled to many countries, including Costa Rica, Honduras and the Dominican Republic, to provide eye health exams and prescribe and distribute glasses to those in need. Most recently, Dr. Letourneau has travelled to Haiti with a team of Ophthalmologists to perform dozens of vision-saving surgeries with SEE International.

When Dr. Letourneau is out of the office, you can find him cheering on the Jayhawks with his wife, Karla and daughter, Isla. You might also find him playing on a local softball league, spending time with his family and friends, running or working in the yard with his dog, Blue.
